UPDATE3: Russian coal mine catches fire, all miners evacuated

NOVOSIBIRSK, Jun 3 (PRIME) -- All 103 people were evacuated from Russia’s Zarechnaya coal mine in the Kemerovo Region, which caught fire on Friday morning, Tatyana Belousova, head of PR department at coal company Zarechnaya, told PRIME.

“In accordance with the liquidation plan, the entire underground staff was brought to surface. There are no injured. At that moment, 13 employees of the military mine rescue service and 90 workers of the facility were inside the mine,” she said.

A transformer substation took fire during technical works, she said.

A source said earlier that four miners had carbon monoxide intoxication and injuries.
